Day 1 – St Bees to Ennerdale
Are we nearly there yet? Clift top of St Bees Head Gap between south and north headland Top of Dent! Nik’s happy 🙂 Quick climb down to the beach. Rasha on the beach Our stones! Gossiping the beach Early (ish) morning light from St Bees Head Marathon Man Pete – donated to our cause despite walking it himself too. The most amazing two ladies ever! Girls on the beach St Bees Head Garmin!! Ready, steady…..
24.93k walked today from St Bees to Ennerdale with a total ascent of 782m and a descent 668m. We left St Bees at 8:30am and walked down to the beach to pick up a pebble which we will all carry to Robin Hoods Bay and place on the beach there.
Some of the highlights of the day include two wonderful ladies from Moor Row who on seeing us sitting outside their church (making use of the benches) made us the best cup of tea/coffee we have ever had! We were gasping and nothing was open on a Sunday. Another highlight was Pete – walking with another group but wanting to donate to our wonderful cause.
